The $15 truly unlimited data plan

1. Mint Mobile’s insane $3/line/month family plan promo

On August 22nd, T-Mobile-owned Mint Mobile launched an amazing deal.

When any Verizon or AT&T customer switches to Mint Mobile and brings their exiting lines, they can get up to 4 lines for free for the first three months.

Here’s how it works:

Say you’re an AT&T customer with 5 lines and you want to switch to Mint Mobile.

You grab the $30/month unlimited plan for 3 months for yourself, which is currently on sale for just $15/month.

That’s $45 up front for 3 months of service.

Then, Mint Mobile lets you add up to four more identical plans to your shopping cart for completely free.

You proceed to check out and pay $45 plus applicable taxes and fees in your area.

That means you just paid $45 for three months of service for all five lines on the Mint Mobile unlimited plan.

That breaks down to just $3 per line per month for your first three months!

But…

What happens after your first 3 months?

After your first 3 months, prices go back to normal.

Each line can choose either the 5GB, 15GB, 20GB, or unlimited plan from Mint Mobile at the regular 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month rates.

For the best deal, you’ll want to sign up for the 12-month option.

The unlimited plan you signed up for earlier would become $30/line/month with the 12-month option. For the 3-month option, it’s $40/line/month. So you save yourself a cool $600 per year by going with the 12-month option.

Now, normally, if you have each line on its own separate account, you would pay the full balance up front for the 12 months.

That would be $1,800 for all five lines on our account (in this example).

BUT, if you create a Mint Family, then Mint Mobile lets you pay quarterly for your all of your plans.

Instead of $1,800 up front, you would pay $450 per quarter.

That’s $150 per month for all five lines on the Mint Mobile unlimited plan.

What if you want something cheaper?

If you want an even more affordable option, you can consider any of Mint Mobile’s other plans.

For example, if you put each of your five lines on the Mint Mobile 5GB plan, you’d pay just $225 per quarter on phone service, the equivalent of $75 per month.

Mint Mobile lets you mix-and-match plans, too, so you can put each line on a plan that meets its specific data needs.

You may keep your line on the unlimited plan because you love having lots of data.

And you may bump your kids down to the 5GB plan because, let’s face it, you’re the one footing the bill and they probably don’t need more than 5GB anyway.

That is Mint Mobile’s $3/line/month deal.

Again, this is available for Verizon and AT&T customers, as well as customers on any Verizon or AT&T MVNO.

2. Visible’s $15 truly unlimited data plan deal

In response to Mint Mobile’s deal, or perhaps due to funny coincidence, Visible ALSO launched a new promo.

And, funny enough, this promo targets T-Mobile customers.

If you are a T-Mobile customer and you port your number to Visible, Visible will give you $10 off the Visible Base plan guaranteed for 5 years.

That means instead of $25 per month for Visible Base, you would pay just $15 per month.

The best part?
