On March 27th, 2024, Visible upgraded its unlimited plans in a BIG way.

The new plans may be the best unlimited plans in the industry.

What changed?

Here is what you need to know.

Visible is a prepaid cell phone carrier owned by Verizon. They offer two of the most competitive unlimited plans in the industry:

1. Visible Base: unlimited data for $25

2. Visible+: unlimited data with 50GB priority for $45

The changes to the Visible+ plan are what people are most excited about.

But first, let’s start with Visible Base.

Visible Base

Visible made three key changes to the Visible Base plan:

1. Hotspot is no longer limited to only one device. You can now connect as many devices as you want.

2. Adding a smartwatch line increased from $5 to $10

3. A new Global Pass add-on gives you unlimited minutes, texts, and 2GB of high-speed data per day in 140 supported destinations. The add-on costs $5 per day in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and $10 per day everywhere else.

That’s it!

The rest of the features remain the same.

The plan still costs just $25 per month for unlimited high-speed data and unlimited hotspot data at 5Mbps.

Can you find an unlimited plan at a better price?

I don’t think so.

No other plan gives you unlimited high-speed data plus unlimited hotspot data for $25 per month.

If you want unlimited data, Visible Base is easily your best-value option out there.

Visible+ 2.0

What changes did Visible make to Visible+ that have people so excited?

The new Visible+ plan received so many changes that Visible is now calling it Visible+ 2.0.

Here are the six key differences:

1. Visible+ 2.0 now includes a smartwatch line for free (previously $5 extra per month)

2. Hotspot data speeds doubled from 5Mbps to 10Mbps

3. You can now connect as many devices as you want to hotspot (previously limited to one device)

4. Canada and Mexico roaming data quadrupled from 0.5GB per day to 2GB per day

5. You now get one free Global Pass day per month, then it costs $10/day for international roaming (previously no option for international roaming outside North America)

6. Video streaming quality on 5G Ultra Wideband is now capped at 480p (previously the plan allowed you to stream at 4K while on 5G UW)

Of course, Visible+ 2.0 still has the same features as before, including:

• $45/mo with all taxes and fees included

• 50GB priority data on 4G LTE and 5G Nationwide

• Unlimited priority data on 5G Ultra Wideband

• Free roaming in Canada and Mexico

• 500 minutes of free international calling to 30 destinations

For $45 per month, I think Visible+ is the best unlimited plan with priority data for a single line.

Should existing Visible customers upgrade to the new plans?

If you’re an existing Visible customer, you’re probably wondering, “should I upgrade to the new Visible plans? And what will happen to my current plan?”

Here’s the lowdown:

If you have Visible Base, you are automatically upgraded to the new plan. The only real changes are that adding a smartwatch line will now cost $10 extra (if you got in at the $5 price, you can keep it), the new Global Pass add-on is available to purchase, and you should now be able to connect more than one device to your mobile hotspot.

That’s it.

If you have Visible+, it is a different story.

Visible+ customers are now grandfathered into their plan. You get to keep all your current features at your current price.

Some of you may want to upgrade to the new Visible+ 2.0 plan to get the 2x faster hotspot data, 4x more high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, free international day pass, and free smartwatch line for the same $45 price.

HOWEVER, if you have a current $10 off promotion and are paying $35/mo for Visible+, you will likely want to keep your current Visible+ plan.

That’s because if you choose to upgrade to the new Visible+ 2.0 plan, you will lose any promotions or discounts on your account.

Your price will go up to the regular $45 per month price.

For some of you, the faster hotspot data, included smartwatch line, and better international features will be worth it.

For most of you, I think you’ll prefer to keep your $35/mo price point and save the extra $120 per year.
